The Department of Medicine has been recognized by PMC for MBBS, BDS and house job as well as FCPS-II training. The department has 100 beds in total comprising of a female ward 40-bedded, a male ward 30-bedded, dialysis center 6-bedded, ICU & CCU 6-bedded and a special facility of private rooms 12-bedded.
The Medicine and Allied department has an average daily OPD of >200 patients, IPD of 70 with bed occupancy >60%. Seasonal epidemics including COVID-19, Dengue fever, Swine flu are managed in isolation wards. Being a tertiary care center, the department receives referrals from Northern areas, Gilgit Baltistan, Kashmir and Murree. The Medicine & Allied department at Rawal General and Dental Hospital is actively participating in the Government's Sehat Sahulat Program. Following clinical services and procedures are routinely performed in the department:

Rawal Institute of Health Sciences has top of the line academic facilities. There are well-equipped tutorial rooms for MBBS and BDS students with multimedia and departmental library. Daily ward round is conducted by consultant along with postgraduate trainees (FCPS) and house officers. Undergraduate students are posted in the department for 8 weeks with prescheduled curriculum based on SGDs, PBLs, OSCEs, Short and Long cases, SDL and assignments. Students have full time access to wards, ICU, CCU and ER under supervision of faculty and staff. The postgraduate trainees are also available round the clock for patient care and student guidance.
The Medicine and Allied at RGH is recognized for postgraduate training (FCPS) by the College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan (CPSP). Several trainees have successfully completed their postgraduate fellowship. Currently, there are 12 trainees inducted for FCPS in the department. The Medicine & Allied department is actively involved in clinical research work. The allied departments; Cardiology, Nephrology, Pulmonology, Dermatology, Psychiatry and Gastroenterology are actively participating in patient management as well as undergraduate and postgraduate teaching.
